In 2003, CEO's Public Art Exhibit Committee decided to commission artists selected at the Saint Louis Art Fair to create pieces of art Specifically for the education and enrichment of inner city school children.  The artists were asked to record their process from start to finish for inclusion in the lesson plan.
The first medium selected was ceramics.  CEO members who attended the "Art Safari" selected two artists who agreed to create pieces specifically for this project and document the process for the lesson plans
This piece was created by Marianne Baer

These pieces were created by Monroe School Students

The committee secured a volunteer to develop a lesson plan, based on the St. Louis City School curriculum, for each piece.  They then selected the nonprofit organization, Springboard to Learning & Young Audiences of St. Louis to provide the teachers and administer the program for CEO in the city schools.  CEO will be responsible for securing the funding to support the cost of the program
This is similar to one of the seven pieces created by
Natalie Blake
  Monroe School
created two permanent murals out of tiles created using the lesson plan for Natalie Blake's work.  The school held a dedication ceremony where CEO and Springboard to Learning were honored for bringing them the program.

St. Louis City Schools are welcome to have the CEO & Saint Louis Art Fair's Public Art Collection displayed in any of their buildings.  Having the collection on disply while CEO's Arts Education Program is being taught enhances the children's
exposure to fine arts.
